The Butterfly Tattoo

The Butterfly Tattoo is a contemporary film based on Philip Pullman's novel of the same name (previously published as The White Mercedes.) Dynamic Entertainment DEH Ltd optioned the rights in 2006 in order to produce a community supported open-source film. 

The film is to be shot on high definition video equipment. This equipment has been tested and used in Hollywood for the last couple of years and is widely accepted as professional grade. A great crew has been assembled to produce a artistically sound adaptation of the terrific underlying material.

Open-source movements in the software industry have been emulated in certain aspects. First of all, a lot of information about the production will be shared on this official website.
