Today we moved the office from Howbery Park, Wallingford, to
the new location next door to Blenheim Palace, Woodstock. After gathering
up the stuff from the Howbery office the move went smoothly & safely. The
Woodstock house was a godsend, large in size & perfect as a base for the
film crew.
Various members of the crew including the director Phil Hawkins & DOP Mike
Costelloe visited a few locatiosn for the last time. The team visited
Banbury Road, mentioned in Phillip Pullman's novel. They looked around
what was to become Chris' dad's house.
They also visited Howbery Park, Wallingford to see where some of the key
scenes in the film would take place, including larger scenes such as the
ball. Line Producer Penny Merrill's house was visited for its use as a
location. Also another major scene in the film is a raid on a police
station, which Phil got quite excited about!
